Physiotherapy

“Physiotherapists help people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice” – Chartered Society of Physiotherapy

The chartered and HCPC registered physiotherapists at Tudor will assess your condition and develop a bespoke treatment plan. This may include manual therapy, progressive rehabilitation exercises and biomechanical analysis. They also utilise other specialist therapies such as shockwave, acupuncture, dynamic stability, myofascial mobilisations and orthotic provision. After explaining the problem, the physiotherapist will discuss your goals and expectations and will place a strong emphasis on working together to ensure targeted rapid recovery. This will include looking at lifestyle and sporting activities to establish a potential cause of the injury and planning a self-management strategy.

Everyone is welcome at Tudor Physiotherapy, from elite and recreational athletes to non-sports people, children and the elderly. Over the years we have established links with a network of orthopaedic consultants, GP’s, sports clubs and schools.

We offer a concessionary rate to all students.

Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy

Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy can dramatically help a person’s wellbeing with both prevention and treatment of stress, tension and fatigue that occurs through occupational, recreational or sporting activities.

Following assessment, the therapist will apply a range of soft tissue techniques (including massage) to aid recovery from injury and improve soft tissue condition and joint mobility. They will also offer advice on a range of remedial exercises and lifestyle factors aimed at speeding up recovery, preventing injury recurrence as well as improving posture, performance and function.

Benefits include:

  • Relief of stress & tension which hinder the achievement of optimum performance
  • Relief of pain and discomfort from various medical conditions
  • Reduction of injury risk
  • Speeding up the recovery process & assisting rehabilitation after injury
  • Ensuring full range of joint movement & increased muscle flexibility
  • Improved postural and general body awareness

“I have sought Gisela’s remarkable treatments regularly for the past twelve years, as they have proved to be the best type of therapy I have found for my ongoing, genetic, inflammatory and degenerative condition. I can honestly say that her skills in dealing with my neuro-muscular and skeletal problems have changed my life for the better.

Gisela is an expert, experienced practitioner: extremely knowledgeable and skilful, always thorough, concerned and caring. For me, her treatments have been beneficial on many levels, including helping to restore correct muscular function, posture and mobility. She has been enormously successful in reducing my chronic pain. These treatments have been equally positive in the improvement of old stagnated injuries, as well as with more recent ones” – Chris Chatland

Free Kids Physio

This is a free 15 minute physiotherapy assessment that we offer for school age children. These take place at our Stratford upon Avon and Warwick clinics and are bookable by calling our reception team on 01789 200935. It is an opportunity for one of our chartered physiotherapists to assess what may be an acute sports injury or a persistent growth pain. Advice and appropriate exercises will be given and if required we may recommend further treatment.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a modern and highly effective treatment option for many musculoskeletal conditions. This is delivered through a hand piece used by the physiotherapist. There is now substantial evidence to support Shockwave as an effective treatment and often alternative to surgery in conditions such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, tennis / golfers’ elbow, patella tendinitis, chronic muscle injuries & shoulder tendinopathy.

Orthopaedic Bracing

We are a regional fitting centre for Ossur UK. Our physiotherapists are experts in measuring for and fitting a wide range of braces. We regularly supply and fit the Ossur CTi knee ligament stability brace and the Ossur Unloader One brace that works to offload the arthritic knee. These braces are available in both off the shelf and custom fit options. We also work closely with Bauerfeind UK and Thuasne; we are experienced in fitting their soft supports and braces.
